I AM ANKITA, AN ASPIRING HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL
Currently in my Year 2 at UBC’s Faculty of Sciences, I have keen interests in pursuing pediatrics and in helping people with post-injury mobility issues.
HELPING OTHERS
VOLUNTEER WORK
In my free time, I currently volunteer at the Tetzlaff Lab at Blusson Spinal Cord Center, the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, and BCCH Emergency Department (Childlife). Being able to help other people gives me immense satisfaction and happiness.
At Tetzlaff Lab, I am assisting in research on examining how age, sex, and myelin availability impacts spinal cord injury recovery in mouse model.
At the Children’s Hospice, I work as a Family Volunteer, providing support to children and their families.
At the BCCH Emergency Department, I help in facilities maintenance as well as provide assistance to children and their families while they are there.
Besides these current volunteer activities, I also have several years’ of experience volunteering in various capacities and organizations in and outside of school.
